About Us

The American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) is the premier professional organization dedicated to advancing the science, technology, and clinical practice of respiratory care. The session will be held from December 6-9, 2026 at New Orleans, United States. Governed by its comprehensive 2026–2028 Strategic Plan, the association operates on four fundamental pillars: engage, elevate, advocate, and educate. The AARC supports respiratory therapists, hospital administrators, and healthcare decision-makers by promoting professional excellence, championing legislative advocacy, and cultivating an inclusive community for all respiratory health professionals.

Works alongside affiliates like the American Respiratory Care Foundation to sponsor research and professional development opportunities.

The AARC encourages and promotes professional excellence, advances the science and practice of respiratory care, and serves as an advocate for patients and their families, the public, the profession and the respiratory therapist. AARC offers engaging, valuable professional education that advances the professional practice of respiratory therapy and supports advancement of the profession.
